In Korea, vitamin pills are losing to a sticker… here’s a look inside the wearable supplement trend.
The appeal is simple: peel, stick and go. For decades, taking your vitamins meant swallowing them with water. More recently, a new way of getting your supplements has taken hold: wear them instead.
Patches offer an easy alternative to remembering a handful of pills every day, while fitting seamlessly into the beauty and wellness routines we already have.
It’s a concept we already know from the rise of pimple patches: what was once something to hide became something people happily wore in public, with colourful shapes and cute designs turning skincare into part of the look.
Vitamin patches tap into that same idea. Instead of hiding your wellness routine, you can wear it on your sleeve… like, quite literally, on your skin. In a world where self-care is increasingly shared online, that visibility is part of the appeal.
Korea’s take on vitamin patches: make them all about the glow. Instead of sleep or energy, these patches are tapping into beauty-focused ingredients like Glutathione - the same skincare favourite known for its radiance-boosting properties, now completely reimagined.
The name behind the moment is ‘RingTap’, a Korean brand whose vitamin patch pairs Glutathione with Vitamin C and Niacinamide. You simply press one on and go. The brand says it has completed a human skin-permeation study, following a familiar K-Beauty strategy: innovation backed by research. Plus, it looks less like a supplement and more like an aesthetic accessory.
New Zealand vitamin patches from brands like ‘The Patch Remedy’ highlight ingredient technology, absorption testing, safety and patents, giving consumers more confidence in a format that naturally raises one big question: can a sticker really deliver active ingredients through your skin?
Even with the questions around efficacy, patches tap into something bigger: wellness as a ritual. Portable, aesthetic and effortless, they make self-care feel less like another task and more like a moment for yourself. The aesthetic side of wellness might just be the real reason patches are having their moment.
Treat these patches as a low-effort ritual with a maybe, not a guaranteed swap for proven brightening care.
Long story short, pills aren’t going anywhere… but there’s a new contender on the scene.
Vitamin patches sit at the intersection of K-Wellness innovation, beauty and convenience. They’re undeniably clever and trendy - fitting perfectly into Korea’s knack for turning wellness into something you can feel and see.
