HI-REVIEW: Acropass Trouble Cure Patch

by Hinako Percival

Do you ever get those annoying pimples that are deep in the skin? These tend to be hormonal pimples and no skin care product seems to ever reach it, and they seem to never heal? Well… have you heard of microneedles?

This past month I tried the Acropass Trouble Cure Patch. Unlike the usual acne-treatment pimple patches it uses microneedling technology to further enhance delivery of ingredients to troubled areas.

Price: $15

Quantity: 6 patches

How to use: Cleanse and sanitise the affected area with a cleansing pad included. Use dry hands to remove Trouble Cure Patch from packaging. Position the patch on the centre of the affected area. Press down several times to attach. Leave for a minimum of 2 hours. Use overnight for best results.

Product Features

There are two steps required for this product. First is cleansing and second is placing the patch. The product comes with some cleansing wipes which are infused with salicylic acid and tea tree leaf oil to sanitise the area and treat any bacteria. These wipes do have quite a strong scent to it, which is often a red flag for skincare products. But this is necessary to make sure the skin is properly sanitised before it gets pierced by the microneedles when applying the patch after.

The microneedles on this patch are about ¼ the thickness of human hair. Each needle is made with hyaluronic acid and niacinamide. Interestingly, these needle structures are made to completely dissolve. By the time you peel these patches off, you’ll find that the patches are completely flat. Hyaluronic acid is most known for its hydrating factors however, it is also found to improve wound healing by reducing inflammation and bacterial growth. Niacinamide is known to reduce inflammation too!

Personal Experience

I was really excited to try this product out. At first, I was surprised that you can actually feel the microneedles pierce your skin. It’s not necessarily painful but this was something I wasn’t expecting. These patches don’t get rid of pimples overnight but drastically speed up the healing process. I found that by two or three days after using just one patch, the pimple was almost invisible and by the end of the week completely gone.

The best results I saw from these Trouble Cure patches is that it even healed some scarring. I have this one section on my face which has scarring from past acne, and I seem to continuously get deep set pimples recurring in the same area. I used two patches on this area around two weeks apart. And miraculously, not only did the acne heal completely. but so did the scarring!!

I did notice a few downsides of this product. One down side of this product is the packaging. Each patch is packaged in twos. This means that if you want to use just one patch, you need to store the other patch – which the needles are now exposed – into a tiny zip lock bag that is provided. The zip lock bag is a nice solution, but it definitely doesn’t feel like the most sanitary. I think it would be better if the patches were packaged individually so that the microneedles aren’t completely exposed.

The second downside is the price. With only 6 patches for $15 it’s definitely a pricier pimple patch. However, I can look past the price because of the amazing results I have seen, and it’s also not a product I would use every day. If you are wanting to save money I would suggest using normal pimple patches for more superficial pimples, and leaving these Acropass Trouble Cure Patch for deep set breakouts and even scarring too!

I hope this review was helpful! Thank you for reading.
