PRODUCT FEATURES

If you’re into skincare in any kind of way you’ve probably tried a pore mask at least once in your life. There are lots of different types of pore masks, such as the super satisfying peel-off pore masks, gel pore masks, blackhead pore masks, clay pore masks and heaps of others. But the Beauty of Joseon Pore Mask that we’re going to be talking about is more of a clay-like nourishing pore mask.

As someone with normal/oily skin I've tried lots of masks in the past, in an attempt to reduce the appearance of my pores. Clay masks tend to work best for people with oily skin as the clay absorbs the excess sebum from your pores. Unfortunately, the absorption of sebum/oil can often leave your skin feeling quite dry and sometimes irritated. So when I read that this mask contained peptides I was excited to give it a go.

Peptides are amino acids that make up proteins that your skin needs. Your body naturally creates collagen, which is made up of peptides. So when you add more peptides to your skin, it stimulates your skin cells to create even more collagen. More collagen = brighter, glowing skin, simple right?! This mask contains 3 types of peptides, which is why it’s the perfect mask for giving your skin that brightening glow!

PERSONAL OPINION

I found the texture of this pore mask is pretty similar to lots of other clay masks, except it feels much lighter, like air-whipped clay. It’s very airy and light on the skin and it features little bits of crushed red bean. These red bean specks are great if you’re looking for a little physical exfoliation but they’re gentle enough to exfoliate my skin without leaving it feeling raw. I also love that it comes with a mini spatula so you don't have to put your fingers into the product (meaning it’s more sanitary than other masks - which is good for sensitive, acne-prone Beauties!)

Another thing I really like about this mask is that it leaves my skin looking plump and refreshed. I found that other clay masks seriously dry out my skin, but thanks to the peptides in this pore mask, my skin looks smoother and more hydrated after using it. The only downside to this mask is that it smells quite fruity and sweet. It’s not a super strong scent and it does fade after a while, but I personally don’t like sweet smelling skincare products. Though it's worth mentioning that even with its fruity-sweet smell, the fragrance doesn't irritate my sensitive eyes at all, which is a thumbs up in my books!

All-in-all, I love using this pore mask, it’s such a good price for the amount of product that you get, and I can easily look past the slight smell, as I'm obsessed with how it makes my skin look and feel afterwards.

If you’re looking for a clarifying, brightening AND nourishing face mask, the Beauty Of Joseon Red Bean Pore Mask is definitely one you should be adding to your cart!
