HI-REVIEW: Beauty of Joseon Radiance Cleansing Balm

by Hazel Sarcilla

Hi Beauties!

Which cleansing type do you prefer? Oil or balm? As for me, I enjoy cleansing balms a lot more especially those that easily melts your makeup and washes off quickly, so I’m kind of excited to talk to you about Beauty of Joseon’s Radiance Cleansing Balm. It’s als my first time trying out a product from their brand and I’m really looking forward to it because I heard awesome reviews about this brand.

Price: $28NZD

Quantity: 100ml

Description: A VERY SOFT, BALM TYPE CLEANSING BALM THAT GENTLY MELTS AWAY MAKEUP, EXCESS SEBUM AND SKIN IMPURITIES.

How to use: Apply a small amount onto fingertips and massage evenly over dry skin to dissolve makeup and dirt. Rinse off with lukewarm water.

The Beauty of Joseon came up with an updated version of this balm with an updated packaging and reformulation. With its reformulation, possible irritants such as artificial fragrances and colours and essential oils are removed.

It contains handing (traditional Korean herbal medicine such as:

  • Rice water and fermented grains to help the skin retain moisture and brighten the skin.
  • Chrysanthemum extract contains vitamins A and B to protect and soothe the skin.

This cleanser is great for all skin types and especially helpful for people with dull, dry, and sensitive skin.

Personal Experience

I haven’t worn makeup in ages but when I got back to the office, that was a great time to test this product. Since I only wear minimal makeup, using it in small amounts was enough. I love how it glides and melts smoothly on to my skin. It does not have any scent and I did not feel any irritation especially on my eye area. It removed my makeup without much effort and washing it off with lukewarm water was super easy! No intense rubbing was happening. XD

It did not leave any film at all which was amazing and that’s what I really look for in a cleansing balm. I really enjoyed using it that I would even use it on the days that I’m makeup and/or sunscreen-free! I have yet to test it on heavy makeup looks but I believe that this would do well based on my experience. Before, I was using Farmacy’s Green Clean Makeup Meltaway Cleansing Balm. It also works amazingly although, it does have strong scent which can be a bit too much for me unlike the Radiance Cleansing Balm that’s unscented. The only con for me was the packaging. This product comes with a spatula which was placed inside the product that was protected by a sturdy plastic layer on top. Once you removed the plastic, the spatula would be mixed in the product. I wish they added something on the lid so we could just stick the spatula in place when we don’t use it.

I recommend this to all skin types. It removes makeup and washes off effortlessly, it does not have any fragrance, and no irritation at all. There’s nothing really left to say other than it was such an amazing product that I would repurchase it myself.

Thanks for reading! 😊
