HI-REVIEW: Benton Ceramide Cream 10000PPM
Who else doesn’t like ceramide creams because they are usually on the thicker and heavier side? 🙋
That was me, it’s great for winter, but as the days get warmer I don’t want to be dealing with a thick moisturiser. With dry skin, there’s often not that many options. That’s until I tried this lightweight, Benton Ceramide Cream 10000PPM!
This past month I’ve been using this every day, morning and night, and I’m excited to share my experience. First, let's talk about what it’s good for and the ingredients.
Price: $36
Quantity: 80ml
How to Use: At the last step of skincare, apply a suitable amount to the face and gently pat until absorbed.
This moisturiser is made for us dry skin individuals and claims to help dry, dehydrated, itchy, sensitive skin and even wrinkles that are caused by lack of elasticity.
First of all, what are ceramides?
Key Features
Ceramides are responsible for 30-40% of the skin barrier. Our skin barrier helps maintain skin moisture and defends against germs, toxins and pollution entering our body via our skin. Ceramides decrease as we age and after doing some research, I found out that by the age of 30 we lose up to 40% of natural ceramides. Which makes this ingredient so important to incorporate into our skincare.
There are different types of ceramides, and this product contains 5 types. This allows it to target all skin barrier concerns, from enhancing protection, elasticity care, helping skin cell cycle, maintaining the strength of the skin and of course, the moisturising properties.
Ceramide creams work best when it is similar to our skin composition. Luckily this cream is formulated from botanical sources to resemble the skin barrier, with 10,000PPM (parts per million) of ceramides and a lipid complex.
This product also contains two other great moisturising ingredients, panthenol and trehalose. As well as vitamin E, a great antioxidant, and cynanchum atratum extract, a good anti-inflammatory ingredient that you will probably only find in Korean skin care products.
PERSONAL EXPERIENCE
I really enjoyed this product. I was most surprised with how light weight this felt. Moisturisers with ceramides or creams marketed towards dry skin, often feel very thick. So I loved that I can get the same benefits from this light weight cream.
Application and absorption is fast and simple as you would expect from a more lightweight cream. With dry skin, lightweight creams often dry down fast but with this, once absorbed I could still feel the moisturising properties long afterwards.
I don’t know about you, but this season is one that causes a lot of irritation, dryness and itchiness to my skin. I used this cream as we entered the warmer months and surprisingly, this year my skin didn’t react as it would usually. Although I can’t say for sure it’s because of this cream, after reading about this product and its formulation, it does make me wonder if using this Benton Ceramide cream helped a lot 🤔
Only one thing concerned me about this product, upon opening and applying, it had a little bit of a scent. The cream has a really natural but pleasant scent. Knowing that fragrance can irritate skin I had to look into it. I was relieved to find that the scent came from neroli oil extracted from bitter orange flower which actually has a lot of skin benefits and instead, decreases irritation!
So, in conclusion I don’t really have anything negative to say. I LOVED it! And would definitely recommend it to anyone with dry skin. Especially as we enter into these warmer months, let’s try and use lightweight creams like this Benton cream.
