HI-REVIEW: Benton Fermentation Eye Cream

by Charlotte Wright

My under-eye area is my biggest personal skincare concern. I hate it when my make-up won’t sit properly after the thousandth concealer I’ve spent a fortune on fails me. The area around your eyes is one of the thinnest, most sensitive areas of your body. It is also one of the first areas to show aging.

We might think this is from facial expressions, genetics or pulling the skin too much but the truth is the skin just doesn’t have as many oil glands or collagen as the rest of the body. This means we can suffer from dryness, droopiness, line and wrinkles. This is where eye cream comes into play, no matter what age or skincare concern, you should be using an eye cream. When it comes to picking the right one you should focus on one thing: moisture, moisture, moisture!

Price: $35

Quantity: 30g

Benton’s Fermentation Eye Cream is a best seller in Korea and for all the right reasons. With a combination of Adenosine and Ceramide it is a goldmine of moisture.

Adenosine is a water-soluble ingredient which is already found naturally in the body. It is known for its soothing, restoring and anti-aging properties. It does this by stimulating the production of collagen (which we already mentioned this area is lacking). Due to Adenosine being naturally occurring it does not usually cause irritation or sensitivity. In fact it helps inhibit the effects of inflammation to create a very soothing effect.

Put Adenosine together with ceramides and you have a soothing dream team. Ceramides hold skin together and form a protective layer to help prevent moisture loss and visible damage. The end result? Hydrated, supple and soothed skin.

Final Thoughts

There are not many products I love from the first application. I always like to reserve judgement until I’ve used something for at least a week or even two. This was indeed, love at first sight.

I would not have listed dryness as an under eye concern for me but as soon as I used this product I realised I was quite mistaken. Like when you don’t think you’re thirsty until that first sip of sweet ice water.

I use this Fermentation Eye Cream in both my morning and evening routine and it’s amazing how quickly it became something I can’t live without. I have noticed it makes my whole face look a little brighter and ready for the day (even if that’s just at home in lockdown!). It helps my eye make-up apply smoother and stay put longer, making all that money I spent on concealer finally worthwhile!

The texture is different to any eye cream I’ve tried before. It’s quite thick and has next to no greasy residue which is one of my favourite things about this product. It absorbs immediately after application with no trace left behind, which I believe is why it sits so well under make up products.

If I was trapped on a desert island and could only take two products with me it would be SPF and eye cream, this product would be my first choice! It is suitable for all skin types and skin concerns; you can use it anytime of the day and it really enhances the performance of your make up products.

My last point would be the value for money, even though I use this product twice a day I’m starting to wonder if I’ll ever run out! For me this eye cream ticks all the boxes and helped me overcome my biggest personal skincare concern. That alone is priceless 😊
