HI-REVIEW: Rovectin LHA Blemish Ampoule

by Kate Garside

Hi Beauties!

Today we’re going to talk a little bit about BHAs, AHAs and LHAs, and why the Rovectin Clean LHA Blemish Ampoule is the ultimate ampoule for combating inflammation, discoloration and sebum! Let’s get into it.

Price: $49

Quantity: 50ml

How to use:

After cleansing and toning, apply as a spot treatment for troubled areas or apply all over the face. You may apply a moisturiser for extra moisturising afterwards.

Product Features

One of the things I was most interested about when I heard of this ampoule was the fact that it contains LHAs. I’ve heard of, and used, AHAs and BHAs and and even PHAs, but I'd never even heard of LHAs until coming across this product.

If you’re new to the world of chemical exfoliation it can be kind of overwhelming at first to get used to all the different chemical exfoliants out there, but don’t worry, I'll keep it simple. Basically, the smaller the molecular size, the deeper the chemical can penetrate, giving more of an exfoliation. AHAs are the smallest size, then in order from smallest to largest, BHAs, PHAs and LHAs.

As LHAs have the largest molecular size they only reach the top few layers of the skin, meaning they give less exfoliation, which also means they’re less irritating. This is great news if you have sensitive skin and have wanted to try exfoliating to combat discoloration or blemishes, but are worried about any damage to your skin barrier!

This ampoule also contains sebum-controlling super ingredient, Niacinamide, and Citrus Aurantium Amara (Bitter Orange) Flower Water which is known for its detoxifying and anti-inflammatory properties. This makes it a good option for those who struggle with acne.

Personal Experience

I really like this ampoule for a number of reasons, the first being that its texture is super thick when you drip it from the dropper, but as soon as it hits your skin it turns watery-smooth and glides onto the skin so well. I’ve been dealing with some rosacea on my cheeks recently and I find that rubbing my skin too hard can cause a bit of a flare up. So using products that apply easily and without tugging at my skin are a must-have!

The other thing I really like about this ampoule is that it’s seriously good at controlling sebum! I’ve noticed that on the days that I use it, my make-up lasts a lot longer, my face feels hydrated and that I don't get shiny anywhere near as quickly.

The ampoule itself doesn’t have any scent and it doesn't irritate my eyes at all. I’ve also noticed that since using this my rosacea has calmed down a lot (to the point of almost not being able to see it!), which I LOVE. It’s also vegan, clean and made using natural ingredients, which is the cherry on top of the cake in my opinion (we stan a natural, clean, vegan skin-care brand!).

This ampoule has quickly become one of my go-to’s, especially as we head into the warmer months and I need a little extra oil-control. And I'm keen to try out more of Rovectin’s products in the future!
