If visions of vintage glamour strike your fancy, I’m sure 20th-century Auckland seems like a far cry from that fantasy. Here at hi, society, we found something that may be able to transport you into a world like Bridgerton for at least, a short while.

Bridgerton’s newest season just dropped last month (part two comes out TODAY), and the internet has been raving about it. What’s even crazier is the spike in sales of tea sets and tablecloths immediately following its release - it seems like everyone wants their Bridgerton era! For the Beauties that haven’t seen it, the show is set in mid-1800s London, and takes every opportunity to make grand displays of wealth, from lavish gowns, beautiful ballrooms, to luxury foods.

If you want to escape to the Bridgerton-world, I welcome you to vintage high tea at Moxie! What makes Moxie stand out from other high teas is that it offers more than just a menu switch at a local spot; it’s a full on high tea experience. Housed in a heritage building, it's already a time capsule of the past!

Held every last Sunday of the month, the restaurant is fully decorated with vintage pearls, candles and floral arrangements to set the scene. Each month, the delicious menu of cakes, pastries and sandwiches are altered slightly so no two experiences are quite the same. Every small detail from crystal cream pots to ornate tea sets are hand selected to whisk you back to Victorian times. But be warned, Moxie takes high tea seriously - complete with specific napkin folds and traditional etiquette!
