It’s that time of year again - ‘tis the season for summer festivals! Whether you’re hitting up a one day festi, camping or glamping it up - we’ve got a few ways to make your experience as seamless (and fun!) as possible. Here are our tips for a legendary festival experience.
Festival crowds can get wild which means you’ll lose track of your mates - especially if you’ve got a runner in the group 👀 It can be a mission to find them, so before you head in, arrange a meeting point! Make it an easily identifiable landmark like the Red Bull tent or near the main stage. Trust us, it beats yelling “I’m by the giant pole!” over thumping music at midnight…
When you’re camping, food on-site is your only option - and it’s usually expensive but what can you do? $10 hot chips here, $12 can there… it adds up! Get ready to save up so you don’t have to worry about festival food prices. You’ll need to fuel up for a day (and or night) of boogieing!
Discover new artists, new genres and take up what your chosen festival has to offer! Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and try something new - you never know what unique experiences you’ll love. Everyone is there for the same reason: to have fun, make memories and dance like nobody’s watching. Get involved!
Sure, most festivals provide sunscreen, but why risk it? Be proactive and bring your own - don’t kill your festival experience before you even start it. Your future self will thank you when you’re not looking like a lobster! Oh, and while you’re at it, pack a pair of sunnies - you’ll need them when you’re grooving in the sun!
Want to enjoy festivals for years to come? Bring ear plugs! It’s not the most “cool” move, but when you’re stuck next to speakers or need a solid night sleep amidst the festival where every tent is taking turns yelling out “nice one bruva!” - ear plugs will keep you sane AND your hearing intact!
Festival life is all about walking, dancing and (let’s be real) running between stages. Blisters and sore feet? Not worth it, it’ll become a constant hassle. Trust me, I once wore Dr. Marten Jadons to RnV and the zipper broke - I had to sleep with one shoe on because I couldn’t get it back on by myself… bring shoes you know will last the whole day, your feet and your friends who have to listen to you complain will thank you!
Phones always seem to die at the worst possible moment - whether it’s when you’re trying to capture a really epic set or when you want to track your friends. A festival is the last place you need your phone going flat! Don’t risk it, bring a power bank. Get one that has plenty of juice, because you’ll end up sharing with your friends!
Music festivals are a beautiful thing, but it can also get a bit… disgusting. Porta potties? Check. Sticky hands from food? Check. Wet wipes will be your saviour! Throw in some hand sanitiser too. You'll feel like the freshest person at the festival! Gotta keep clean in these ~unclean~ but fun conditions.
Now you’re equipped to take on your next festival adventure! Have the time of your life and go enjoy being surrounded by your friends, music and unforgettable moments that you can only get from a festival!
