HI-REVIEW: By Wishtrend Pure Vitamin C 15% With Ferulic Acid Serum 💡
Hi Beauties💗
In this blog I would like to introduce you guys to another Vitamin C serum -- the By Wishtrend Pure Vitamin C 15% with Ferulic Acid Serum! I believe that some of you beauties may have heard a lot about the By Wishtrend Pure Vitamin C 21.5% Advanced Serum which is a super popular product as it is so effective at fading acne scars and brightening complexion. However, some people with sensitive skin (like me!) have always been hesitant to try it out because of the high concentration and potency. Therefore, Wishtrend came out with the new Vitamin C 15% with Ferulic Acid Serum for us sensitive Beauties so it can effectively lighten hyperpigmentation yet being gentle to the skin ✨
Price: $45
Quantity: 30ml
How to use: Apply 3-4 drops on your palm and gently pat over the face. Pat lightly until it fully absorbs.
Description:
Just like I mentioned previously, By Wishtrend has recently come out with a more gentle vitamin c serum compared to the existing 21.5% serum. This new vitamin C serum contains 15%pure vitamin C which helps with antioxidant care, skin brightening, acne prevention, boost collagen, and recovers the skin from UV rays. It also contains 0.5% ferulic acid, which maximizes the antioxidant and antibacterial effect of vitamin C 🍋
Let me break down the key ingredients for you! There are two main types of ingredients: 1) Vitamin Complex and 2) Antioxidant ingredient.
1. Vitamin Complex
= a combination of pure vitamin C & vitamin C derivatives for more effective results 💡
Ascorbic acid is The king of Vitamin C! It is known to inhibit melanin formation on the skin, fade hyperpigmentation, brighten complexion and to boost synthesis of collagen on the skin. Also, this ingredient makes it an effective serum to use all four seasons as it helps recover damaged skin from UV rays! And 15% of ascorbic acid is the golden ratio for effective antioxidant and brightening care without being too harsh on the skin.
Vitamin tree water and Vitamin C are ‘best friends’ and make a great pair together. This serum contains43%of Vitamin tree water and the high level of vitamins protect skin against free radicals and really maximizes the antioxidant effect and helps strengthen the skin’s natural barrier. This ingredient also adds moisture back to the skin hence it is what makes this serum a hydrating vitamin c serum.
2. Antioxidant Ingredient
Antioxidant ingredient is another ‘best friend’ of Vitamin C as it synergises with vitamin C without inducing skin irritation. Ferulic Acid was specifically chosen for this serum as it was found to be the best partner to Vitamin C among all antioxidants. It helps bring out the brightening synergy, maximises the antioxidant effect of ascorbic acid, while keeping the formula stable and being low-irritant to the skin. Ferulic acid is also effective for acne care thanks to its antibacterial property.
Apart from the key ingredients I mentioned above, this serum also contains sodium ascorbyl phosphate - another form of vitamin C, and niacinamide, which is a great addition to ascorbic acid which is also known for its skin-brightening and texture-improving properties. Another star ingredient is the sea buckthorn water which boosts its antioxidant content and is also said to have anti-inflammatory properties, as well as a high vitamin content.
Personal Thoughts
Packaging: Dark dropper bottle just like the 21.5% serum. The dropper bottle makes it very easy to use and hygienic ✔ I would recommend keeping the product somewhere dark avoiding direct sunlight ☀️
Texture: Very light and runny, gets absorbed fast into the skin. It is very thin and hydrating, giving instant glow to the skin.
Results: As soon as I put on the serum I could feel that it instantly adds bit more moisture to my skin and there was so stinging feelings at all. The next morning I could tell my complexion was brighter and more even, so I can say that this serum is definitely quite effective. However, unfortunately on the second day of using this serum I started to develop reactions to the serum 😭 I think this was because of my skin being extra sensitive so 15% pure Vit C was still a little too much for it to handle.
Overall, this serum would be perfect for those beauties who are looking for a hydrating vitamin c serum that can effectively brighten skin, has antibacterial and antioxidant properties, and high-potent yet hypoallergenic.
I would highly recommend it for Beauties struggling with acne scarring, hyperpigmentation and signs of aging (loss of skin elasticity). For those of you with sensitive skin, you do have to be careful but you can still give this serum a go because I have friends with sensitive skin and they love using this product.
This product sits in the middle of the Klairs' 5% Vit C serum and the By Wishtrend 21.5% serum. So if you find Klair’s one not effective enough or if you think 21.5% is too potent then definitely give this product a try!
Thank you for reading till the end. See you guys in the next blog and let’s be pretty 💗
