HI-REVIEW: By Wishtrend UV Defence Moist Cream SPF50+ PA++++

With New Zealand being one of the highest UV index, it is so important to stay sun protected! This means we need to keep our sunscreen game strong to protect our skin from burning and aging! By Wishtrend has released their first ever sunscreen, UV Defense Moist Cream SPF50+ PA++++ and I’m super excited to try it out! 

Product description: The UV Defense Moist Cream provides full protection against UVA, UVB as well as infrared radiation and blue light. 

How to use: 

Apply the UV Defense Moist Cream over the face and neck at the last step of your daily skincare routine. 

This sunscreen formula is actually created in collaboration with Amorepacific, one of the biggest cosmetic companies in South Korea. It includes brands like Sulwhasoo, Laneige, Mamonde, Innisfree and more.

Key Features

This sunscreen has five UV filters (UV protection ingredients) to provide quadruple protection.

5,000ppm of Panthenol: this is a popular humectant in the k-skincare world that provides hydration, healing, and soothing benefits. 

Adenosine: an ingredient known for its anti-wrinkle and skin-soothing benefits.

Tocopherol: a common form of vitamin E. It offers antioxidant properties to protect the skin from pollutants and free radicals. 

Sunscreen is a very important step to protect the skin from harsh UV rays. As always, treat this product as a sunscreen! The anti-wrinkle and antioxidant properties are just an added bonus for your skin!

Texture: A thicker cream texture that’s very similar to a moisturiser texture. 

Scent: It has a faint scent that you normally find in other sunscreens. It is slightly noticeable when you apply it but doesn’t really linger after.

Personal Experience

Korean sunscreens have been nailing their formulas in recent years, so the expectation is quite high with this new release!  

Firstly, don’t get put off by the thicker cream texture, it glides on my skin beautifully like a moisturiser! It is very easy to blend and doesn’t leave a white cast. I personally don’t find the thicker texture heavy or suffocating but if you have oily skin, it might feel a tad heavy.

Now, on to the sunscreen finish. This does leave a dewy finish but doesn’t make me oily or shiny throughout the day. I can wear it under makeup perfectly fine and no pilling upon application.

This might be because of my other skincare products that I’m using, but I did experience minor pilling soon after. I have been wearing this sunscreen almost every day for almost a month, and it only happened a handful of times. I’m still yet to find out which skincare product I can’t use with this sunscreen 😅

I completely agree with the naming of this sunscreen being a moisture cream as it gives my skin a nourishing and moisturising feeling. However, as someone who has very dry skin, I still used a moisturiser before applying this sunscreen. 

For those who remember the sunscreen scandal back in 2020, By Wishtrend has stated that this new release has proven its efficacy in 3 different labs through meticulous in-vivo tests. I’m not an expert nor understand much about the sunscreen tests, but hey, they were very transparent and released the 3 testing labs and the results on their website. This sure gives me a lot more confidence in this sunscreen’s protection!
