How to use:

Apply to the skin after cleanser. Put a small amount onto either a cotton pad or the palm of your hands. Pat gently to the entire face. 

Isntree’s BHA Chestnut Toner is a gentle exfoliating toner, utilising the Betaine Salicylate, BHA for short.. The combination of betaine and salicylic acid acts as a mild and hydrating exfoliant, gently dissolving excess sebum and blackheads. 

Another ingredient that is quite new to the K-Beauty world is Chestnut Shell (Castanea Crenata) extract. This ingredient contains potent antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties to protect the skin from free radicals and environmental stressors. 

Being a toner, it’s also quite hydrating too! With 7 types of botanical extracts alongside Hyaluronic Acid, this toner brightens AND soothes as it leaves skin soft and supple. 

Personal Review

As we enter the colder seasons, my skin has become dull, textured, sensitive and dehydrated during. Because of this, I tend to stray away from exfoliants, fearing they might cause more irritation. But it’s definitely something I need to combat skin texture, especially in my T-zone area. So this toner seems to be made for me! 

My initial impression of this toner was that it’s very lightweight. It instantly absorbed into my skin! As someone with sensitive skin, I could hardly feel the exfoliating acid, and it left no irritation or sticky residue as some exfoliating toners might. 

After using this toner every day for 3 weeks, I noticed a drastic improvement in my skin and found that the blackheads, dullness, and bumps on my skin decreased! It also controlled the excess sebum on my T-zone area.

If you are looking for a new toner, I highly recommend this one, especially if you have skin concerns like mine. It left my skin glowy, smooth and happier! Until next time, thank you, Beauties!
