by Cindy Lu

Hi Beauties ❤️

Hope everyone has had a chance to soak up some sunshine ☀️We’ll be diving into one of the up and coming brands in Korean Skincare - Round Lab, specifically their Dokdo Ampoule. Many of you would’ve heard about their 1025 Dokdo Toner which has created lots of buzz with their gentle yet effective ingredients. Today we’ll be giving the Ampoule from the same line a try! Keep reading for more deets.

Price: $39

Quantity: 45g

Product Features: Alcohol Free | Fragrance Free | Essential-Oil Free

This product has a viscous clear texture, but has a slightly oily-finish. It has a medium drying time, meaning it doesn’t instantly absorb into the skin (because of the oil) but absorbs faster compared to other facial oils such as Rosehip or Jojoba oil.

The ampoule makes the skin appear plump and deeply hydrated. Initial application makes the skin appear to be slightly more oily, but after it absorbs into the skin it doesn’t have this appearance - you can see the difference in the photos.

Purified Water, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Dipropylene Glycol, Propanediol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Seawater, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Panthenol, Chondrus Crispus Extract, Saccharum Officinarum Extract, Tromethamine, Ethylhexylglycerin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Betaine, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Glyceryl Glucoside, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Ceramide NP, Tocopherol, Carbomer, Xanthan Gum

The beauty of this ampoule is how it delivers deep hydration whilst helping with tired and irritated skin using amazing ingredients!

  • Panthenol and Ceramide is great for healing irritated skin, fortifying the skin barrier and soothing the skin.
  • The low molecular Hyaluronic Acid and Collagen means that these ingredients will penetrate the skin more, providing deeper hydration and greater effectiveness of ingredients.
  • Betaine and DPG are also  ingredients for those with sensitive skin, protecting and soothing the skin.

Personal Opinion

Like I mentioned earlier, it does have a bit of an oily finish compared to other serums and ampoules that I’ve used. But I’m a firm believer that sometimes, we need a bit of oil in our routines - even for those with oily skin types! Many people who have oily skin in reality have dehydrated skin, causing their skin to overload with oils on the surface. I had a pretty positive experience using this product on my combo/acne-prone skin! It didn’t cause me to break out - but also really helped with my dry spots from my acne products.

Another gem I discovered was applying this product under foundation. The oily finish of this product deeply moisturizes the dry patches in the skin, which really gives a flawless application of makeup. For most products, unless I apply a THICK layer of serums and creams, my dry patches begin to resurface after a few hours of wearing makeup. But a generous application of this ampoule really helps with those who struggle with dry patches under foundation.

As someone who prefers using less products, I love this ampoule. I would highly recommend this heavy-duty ampoule for sensitized and dry skin as it not only has beneficial ingredients that will repair the skin overtime, but has an effective moisturizing feeling afterwards. It really made me ditch my Cica and Hyaluronic acid serums and just use the 1 ampoule instead~ I would especially recommend this for those who like using facial oils to hydrate 😊

Hope this review was useful in guiding your shopping choices 😁 Give it a try!

Thanks for reading~
