HI-REVIEW: Torriden Balanceful Cica Tone-up Sun Cream

by Joanna Zhang

Sunscreen is one of the most fundamental steps in your skincare routine, especially to protect your skin from sun damage and enhance skin health. After using the Torriden Balanceful Cica Tone-up Sun Cream, it has become an essential addition to my routine.

Price: $37

Quantity: 60ml

How to use:

Apply generously after moisturiser to the skin, 20 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply every 2 hours, and after swimming or sweating.

Product Features

With 5 different types of Centella Asiatica ingredients, this suncream is the perfect one for Beauties with sensitive skin types. With the multiple variants of Centella, it not only soothes but also has anti-aging and anti-inflammatory properties. It’s also infused with botanical extracts to hydrate and brighten!

As a physical sunscreen, it contains Zinc Oxide, providing broad spectrum protection against both UVA and UVB rays. With a lightweight and non-greasy finish, this sunscreen is perfect for daily use, all year-round! Another unique feature is that the sunscreen is tinted green, leaving the skin radiant for the day by cancelling out both redness and dullness.

Personal Review

As an avid sunscreen user, I am always on the hunt for the best form of sun protection. Intrigued by the slight green tint of the sunscreen, I decided to give this one a try and... wow, was I shocked by the results!

One of my favourite features of this sunscreen is the gentle formula and finish. As the seasons change, my skin barrier has been more sensitive and dry, often leaving my skin red and irritated. What I love about this sunscreen is not only is it super gentle but it also calms my skin! This sunscreen is hypoallergenic and unscented, perfect for sensitive and oily to combination skin types as well. The product brightens and leaves a nice semi-matte finish, just the perfect prep for pre make-up or for just starting the day.

This makes this sunscreen the ideal product for me! I often struggle to find a concealer that can reduce redness but also won’t leave my skin with an orange finish. With the colour correction feature, this makes applying make-up so much easier and a faster way to start to my day!

One tip I would recommend is to make sure your moisturiser is fully absorbed before sunscreen application. With some mineral sunscreens, they may have a tendency to pill, especially with applying sunscreen on top of your moisturiser or with your foundation. To avoid this, make sure each skincare step is gently patted into the skin until fully absorbed.

Overall, if you are looking to try out a new type of sun protection, I would totally recommend giving this one a go! I initially did not expect such a significant change when deciding to try this suncream out but I think I have found my sun care staple! Until next time, bye Beauties!
