The Birch Juice oil cleanser has been a delight for my face.
I have EDS, which affects all of your connective tissues - including your skin! As a result, physical exfoliants tear my skin really easily, but dead skin doesn’t slough off like it should. It just… Clings.
Chemical exfoliants (AHAs, BHA, PHA etc.) break down the glue between surface skin cells, allowing the skin to be gently rubbed away.
This oil cleanser has done a great job in that department. Dead skin, dirt, & makeup almost melt away without making my skin sensitised or unhappy.
If only the bottle were as spectacular.
The way the pump is put together forces the product not only up the feed & out the spout, but also through every join it can possibly find. The neck of the bottle quickly becomes an oily mess, wasting product & getting everywhere.
That’s without following the full direction to shake well before use!
If you can decant this product into another bottle, save yourself some misery & do exactly that. It’s such a great oil cleanser for sensitised skin, dehydrated skin, or stubbornly combination skin that it’s worth the fuss.
Top Tip: for an easy peeling treatment, massage the oil into your face & neck, then just let it chill for 5-10 minutes before emulsifying with water!
