HI-REVIEW: Celimax The Real Noni Moisture Balancing Toner

2 comments by Simone Chiang

Hi Beauties!

Today we are trying this vibrant green coloured toner from Celimax - The Real Noni Moisture Balancing Toner. This has been out on the market for a couple of years but is my very first time trying a product from Celimax! I’ve known about this toner for a long time as the “small local” brand that is popular in Korea before Korean skincare gained its popularity in the Western world. So let’s see if this toner lives up to its hype~

Celimax describes this toner as “a light essence lotion infused with 80.1% noni fruit extract to soothe and nourish the skin.”

How to use: After cleansing, apply an appropriate amount to the face using a cotton pad or palm.

Price: $35

Quantity: 150mL

Packaging: A semi-frosted plastic bottle with a screw cap. The bottle itself is very pretty but with semi-frosted bottles, it does “catch” fingerprints.

Texture: Super light and watery, pretty much has no viscosity to it (as you can tell I was struggling to showcase the texture without making a mess 😅 ). Gives off a vibrant green shade in the bottle but is transparent when you apply it. The vibrant green comes from the Noni ingredient as this product contains no artificial colouring.

Scent: I can’t quite pinpoint what it smells like exactly, but slightly earthy and slightly minty. Again, the scent comes from the ingredients, mainly Noni as this toner is free from artificial fragrances.

Noni is a superfood that is rich in vitamins A, B3, C and minerals (iron, calcium, sodium, potassium). It contains a lot of antioxidants to nourish and soothe the skin. This toner also contains 5% Amino Acids, there actually 17 different types to provide gentle exfoliation. This helps to improve skin texture and support the skin barrier.

Another featured ingredient is HYDROVANCE, it claims to provide hydration whilst being more lightweight than glycerin, a common hydrating ingredient that you can find in other skincare.

Personal Experience

I’ve been using this day and night and like to apply 2-3 layers each time. It absorbs into the skin very fast and doesn’t leave a tacky finish even with multiple layers.

I’ve tried using it with a cotton pad but I prefer using my hands to pat it in, it’s just personal preference and I don’t think it makes a big difference except with the additional exfoliation from the cotton pad.

I didn’t notice much difference in my skin texture but I did notice a brighter complexion! As for hydration and nourishment, I didn’t notice any significant difference in comparison with other toners. Nonetheless, I think antioxidants are a wonderful benefit to have in the skincare routine as it provides protection to the skin whilst keeping the free radicals away and improves the dullness! If you have redness from breakouts and acne, Noni is amazing to help heal it faster.

Unfortunately, I have quite dry skin so it didn’t hydrate my skin enough. Which is why I think this is best for perhaps oily skin. I would say this is suitable for people who do not like heavy or greasy finishes but want the benefit of an antioxidant toner.

Friendly reminder, do try and avoid getting the toner in the eye! It definitely requires extra care since the texture has no viscosity but it’s not going to be the most comfortable feeling so well worth the effort haha!

Hope you enjoy the review! Wishing you a good hair and skin day xx

Thank you so much. A person I follow on YouTube moved back to New Zealand from Korea for a few months and she brought the Celimax rang of skincare and showcased it on her journey. She was surprised to find it stored in a store in Newmarket Auckland so I was keen to find out more and try it. I will now. 감사합니다 🤗
