HI-REVIEW: COSRX Advanced Snail 92 All in One Cream

Hope everyone stayed healthy and warm during the winter :) This month, I am fortunate to be reviewing the Advanced Snail 92 All in One Cream by COSRX! This product claims to be a “moisturizer enriched with snail mucin 92% which gives the skin nourishment and moisture without oiliness.”

COSRX is most well known for their affordable yet effective skincare products that minimize the amount of unnecessary and sensitizing ingredients - making it a holy grail for those with sensitive skin. The Snail 92 Cream is no exception, it is a classic product for those wanting to try snail as a new ingredient to incorporate in their skincare routine. How to Use: 

1. Gently apply a proper amount of the cream on the face, avoiding the eye and mouth area, after cleansing and toning.
2. Tap the area where the cream was applied gently in order for it to be absorbed along the skin texture.

The COSRX Advanced Snail 92 All in One Cream is a lightweight translucent gel. When applying on the skin, it dries down quickly and is absorbed into the skin just like any other gel product. 

The most unique characteristic of products that contain snail mucin is the texture which feels slimy and gel-like; this product is no exception to this! However, because of this texture the product slides and spreads seamlessly on the face with no trouble. 

Although the texture is different to other creams, it absorbs and sits on the face the exact same as any other gel product. I haven’t experienced any problems with applying makeup or layering other skincare products on top (e.g. pilling, irritation).

Snail Secretion Filtrate, Betaine, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Stearic acid, Arginine, Dimethicone, Carbomer, Panthenol, Allantoin, Sodium Polyacrylate, Xanthan Gum, Ethyl Hexanediol, Adenosine, Phenoxyethanol 

The main star ingredient of this cream is definitely the snail secretion filtrate. Snail is a common and popular skincare ingredient in asian beauty in particular! It is most popular for those with acne by being an anti-inflammatory ingredient that reduces the irritation of pimples, but also healing and improving the appearance of acne scarring. It is also known for its anti-ageing properties as it improves the elasticity in the skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines. 

Other ingredients such as sodium hyaluronate, panthenol, and betaine are great ingredients for moisturizing the skin. Additionally, this product has well accepted ingredients for those with sensitive skin such as panthenol and allantoin which have soothing properties.

Personal Opinion  

Personally, I felt like this All in One cream adequately hydrated and maintained my skin barrier. The winter can be particularly harsh for my dry-combo skin but this cream was able to prevent any dry patches from popping up! Although I didn’t see much difference in my acne, it was able to make my skin feel supple and smooth without any oiliness. It also feels super soothing when you layer this product on when your skin is irritated. The one minor thing I didn’t really like was how messy this product got because of the slime-like texture from the snail mucin. 

Overall, the COSRX Advanced Snail 92 All in One Cream is a classic moisturizer for those who want to try out snail mucin in their skincare. It is a relatively light-weight product but hydrates the skin more compared to other gel-based moisturizers. I would say it is suitable for all skin types but the benefits of snail mucin would be more effective for those with acne or textured skin :)
